69% of Americans Support Ukraine, According to New Gallup Poll

According to a recent NY Post article, “A record-high level of Americans believe the US isn’t doing enough to support Ukraine, jumping 16 percentage points from December as President Trump tries to wind down the war, a new poll shows.”

This NY Post article was based on a recent Gallup Poll on March 18, 2025, in which 69% of American respondents said the U.S. is providing either the right amount of support to Ukraine or not doing enough to help Ukraine in the conflict.

The latest poll also saw an increase since December in the percentage of Americans, by 5%, to 53%, who want to support Ukraine in reclaiming territory from Russia, even if it prolongs the conflict.

Lastly, the polling found that an overwhelming percentage of Americans, 79% (59% of Republicans), are ‘somewhat’ or ‘very’ concerned Russia would violate the terms of any peace agreement. Another 70% (48% of Republicans) are concerned the peace agreement would be too favorable to Russia. Only 26% of Americans believe Ukraine would violate a peace agreement, and only 20% believe Ukraine would receive overly favorable terms in a peace agreement.

If Russia violated a peace agreement, Americans by 64% (46% of Republicans) would approve sending additional weapons and military aid to Ukraine.

A large majority of Americans do not see Russians as an ally or trust them to be a good-faith negotiating partner, which should make the U.S. government tread carefully in future peace negotiations.

Americans have spoken, and their support for Ukraine is clear. Congress and the Trump Administration need to continue to support Ukraine with weapons and aid.
